Can I put Texas Special pickups in my Ibanez guitar?
I have an Ibanez Gio electric guitar. It almost looks like a stratocaster copy. It's an HSS guitar, and I was wondering if I could put 2 Texas special (stratocaster) pickups where the single coil slots are. I haven't seen anyone do this in an ibanez, so I wanted to make sure before I buy the pickups. Any help would be appriciated!!
They look normal, and your guitar sounds like they should be compatible. I would suggest, unless you have some experience changing pickups, wiring, and/or soldering, to have a guitar tech do it, but whatever.
By normal, I mean the poles and the strings should match up, spacing-wise. If they were f-spaced, and your guitar wasn't, then you shouldn't get them. I don't think you have anything to worry about, though.
So yeah, knock yourself out. In a non-literal sense I mean.
