Can you help me with knowing how to take care of my new guitar?
Well it’s really a bass, not a guitar but it’s basically the same thing. Now I just got this bass for Christmas. I know how to take care of the paint, I have the cleaning kit and wipe.
The question is, I have a maple neck (white one) and I have always used Rosewood Necks (dark one) so I need to know how to take care of this neck so it doesn’t lose its gorgeous pure color. Any Tips?
Usually a maple fingerboard will have a thick poly finish on it, which makes it a lot easier to care for than rosewood. Just wipe it clean when you’re changing strings. If you play the instrument a lot, then over the years the finish will wear through and you’ll get dark areas where your fingers go, but until that happens a maple board is pretty carefree.
