There's little doubt that the Fender Stratocaster has long since secured its fame and glory as an icon among electric guitar design. They created something perfect and it's one of the principal reasons why the instrument has remained so untouched over the decades of music that have since passed through it. In this article we'll be taking a look at the new revamp of the Fender Stratocaster and its improvements for the modern generation of guitar players.
I guess what Fender wanted to do was go back to the Classic Stratocaster guitars from the 50's and 60's and try to discover what really made them great. The challenge was to bring that essence into the modern era and marry it with the technology available today. Most reviews of the new Stratocasters are glowing with musicians saying they are well built and utterly playable instruments.
There's a new bridge which houses improved saddles and the block is now copper infused which results in extended sustain and an over all improved tone. The neck was also looked at in this latest review with Fender opting for a tint treatment and as usual it's buffed to a high gloss finish. The reverse of the neck has remained the same.
Over the body of the guitar there is a thinner undercoat which lets the guitar resonate better and the case has also been greatly improved, it's tough enough to keep your investment safe throughout all the travelling and gigging which is definite peace of mind for guitarists especially when travelling by planes.
There are also 2 new finishes to these Stratocasters - Sienna Sunburst and Blizzard Pearl both of which look gorgeous. They are in stock at all decent guitar stores now so it's well worth giving them a try.
