i want to put a tremolo bridge on my guitar.?
i have a Schecter diamond series c-1 and i want to put a tremolo bridge on it. i would like to put a Kahler because i heard there good. what is the cheapest tremolo bridge i could put in there. ow much would it cost to put in. total amount i would have to spend? also do the make tremolo bridges in gold?

Kahlers are not cheap. You really do pay for quality when it comes to trems. A Kahler bridge, in itself, will run between $50-200, depending on how hard you look and which one you want. There are other alternatives that might be cheaper, like a Licensed Floyd Rose (made by somebody like Jackson, hence Licensed); you can get those for around $20 on eBay. They're lower quality, but not by a lot. Then you'll need to actually install it. If you know about routing you can maybe do it yourself, but if you have to hire somebody...I've heard of people routing for trems as cheap as $30 all the way up to $250. It's very important that they know what they're doing; a bad routing job will ruin you guitar.
That's for a locking tremolo. If you just do a little bend here and there and don't want spectacular whammy bar acrobatics, you could look for a Bigsby-style tailpiece. It mounts to the body of the guitar near the back, and the strings still go over the bridge you already have. It won't bend as far as a Kahler or FR, and it doesn't really bend up at all, but it'll do little downbends and vibrato and you don't have to cut a big hol in your guitar. That will probably be cheaper; look on eBay, those tailpieces run from like $40-$150 last I checked. I think.
And yes, you can get pretty much anything in gold. Chrome, gold, and black.
